About Lara: Lara Casey was born in Washington, D.C. but spent most of her youth on the shores of Pensacola Beach, Florida.  Lara graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University and studied art and design at Yale University.  Her success are wide-ranging: Lara has worked as a celebrity personal trainer in Manhattan and served as a contributor to Shape magazine.  Lara wears many hats within her parent company, Lara Casey Media.  She currently is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Southern Weddings® magazine, founder of the Making Things Happen movement and a noted branding expert with her luxury wedding market consulting firm, Lara Casey Reps.  Lara frequently speaks on branding, marketing and the luxury wedding market.  She has been a speaker at such noted events as Engage!, WPPI, WedSmith, The Total Package and on the Making Things Happen Tour, which recently completed its 30th national tour stop.  She is especially grateful for the many hats she wears through Lara Casey Media, and is inspired daily by the hand she plays in helping others soar.  Lara lives in Chapel Hill, NC, with her husband Ari, and loves to ski, read the Bible, eat very spicy things and had her first baby girl, Grace Austin, on 11.22.11!

July 28th, 2011, marked the 30th city that I have done the Making Things Happen Intensive in the last three years. After 30 cities and now 500+ attendees and - most of all - doing the work myself every single time, there is one through-line I see in how people make big things happen: belief.  You have to see your path clearly.  How?  First, work to rid your life of the many many many distractions and excuses that are holding you back from your full potential. Take practical steps right now.  A year from now, you will wish you had started today. - Karen Lamb.  Clear the clutter so you can have clear vision. It's a process. I know.  It's a process that doesn't end, but it gets so much easier.  Progress, not perfection.  And the process - no matter how grueling it is - is 1000000% WORTH IT.  Life is more important than fear.  I repeat: Real life is more important than any fear.  So, take action on what you want to make happen.  Physical action.  Thinking about it will get you nowhere but stuck where you are.  Start by clearing the clutter that is holding you back from really and truly believing.  Believe in order to achieve.  Do the hard word.  See your path clearly.  Give yourself permission to have a great vision. You are the only person who can give yourself that permission to dream big, friends.  There's no magic answer but that.  Make. It. Happen. - Lara
