Making Things Happen was rejuvenating. The experience gave me some simple but invaluable exercises to help me stay on track (or get back on track when I've fallen off), the motivation to keep working towards my goals, and a team of cheerleaders who will never let me give up on my dream. I walked away with the feeling that I am not alone in the daily struggles that come with taking the crazy leap to self-employment... and the knowledge that I can and will succeed. Now, I have a newfound confidence in charging what I know my time and talents (and the time/talents of my two amazing business partners) are worth. It has allowed us to focus on the jobs and clients that will take us where we want to go creatively, rather than taking on absolutely anything that comes our way (when that is what may end up leaving us stuck, creatively and financially). I have made networking a priority -- something I was always afraid of in the past -- and making the effort to meet new people I admire has already opened doors for our business. We have secured exciting new clients, and designed a wedding invitation suite for a top wedding publication that we could only have dreamed of being a part of before. In the MTH community there is always someone to cheer you on, help you look at something in a different way, or give you advice when you need it. I am CAPABLE.
